I don't know about you but I love this charming antique onyx and pearl mourning locket!
It is a conversion piece, neatly converted from a brooch, it features rich high polished, inky black onyx set with a central pearl set star in yellow gold.
The locker has a rich bloomed gold bezel rim with beading.
She's such a decadent beauty and one of our favourite styles of antique jewellery with the rich luxe colours and celestial twist.
It looks great added to an antique gold long chain or a black ribbon necklace.
To the reverse there is a locket panel, bordered in gold and glazed, currently empty, this can be removed to replace with your own special memento.
Such a beautiful piece of mourning jewellery.
Marks and era:
English make,19th century, Victorian era, unmarked tests as 9ct gold, later converted from a brooch.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate light wear and signs of use, locket reverse slightly loose.
Approx measurements:
0.70" width
1.45" length including the bale.
