An interesting antique conversion ring.
I just love the beautiful engraved band on this piece, a rich 18ct yellow gold band engraved all the way around with various designs.
The ring has split shoulders and the front has been later set with a vintage opal navette.
A pretty and colourful ellipse shaped opal cabochon, set claw set and bordered by an attractive rope twist edging sits at the centre.
It is an unusual and vibrant combination that just seems to work.
The band is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham 1879, Platnauer Bros, the opal navette component is later c1970s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, wear and signs of use commensurate with age, a conversion piece.
UK/AU ring size S
US ring size 9⅛
EU ring size 60.00
Ring face approx 12.8mm length, 5.2mm band width.
Weighs approx 3.31 grams.
Gemstone weights are estimated in setting and are approximate.
