A beautiful antique Art Deco era sterling silver and paste brooch.

This brooch is so well designed and features a curved arrow with a ribbon bow in sterling silver d set with twinkling white paste stones.

Such a gorgeous design and very unusual, full of sentiment and charm.

The arrow has a long history in jewellery symbolism and traditionally represents love as it relates to cupids arrow and mortality.

They can have different meanings though such as aiming for goals or destinations and reaching the target, strength and even peace depending on how they are designed.

This one is most likely related to love particularly as it is paired with a ribbon bow.

Ribbon bows have been a symbol of love, unity and marriage for centuries, in the 17th century bows were first popular in jewellery with a theme of both love and playfulness and were revered for their feminine beauty and expression during the French court of Louis XIV.
