A gorgeous antique, c1900s, sterling silver and paste crescent brooch.

A beautiful open crescent in cool silver, it is set with colourless paste that graduate from the ends to centre.

Crescent moons were a popular motif in Victorian jewellery, they are attributed to a number of meanings from feminine strength to changes or new beginnings / chapters.

This brooch can be worn in many ways and is a stunning, versatile piece, it would look great worn on a lapel or even affixed across your favourite antique chain for a celestial twist.

Crescent moons are a classic piece of jewellery, always highly sought after and they retain that mystical magic as much today as they did back then.

The brooch is marked with contenintal marks for silver and 925, possibly Austrian or Dutch.

It has an old C type clasp and base metal pin fastener.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some aged patina, pin is base metal, light surface wear, pin slightly bent.
