There is something quite magical about antique gold propelling pencils, perhaps for me it is the fact that the Victorian's managed to turn such a simple everyday object into something so beautiful.

They were renowned for this though and this pretty antique 9ct gold example is no exception, with its wonderful engraving and delicate design.

The pencil has the original slider, this makes the tip of the pencil extend outward to use for writing and retract when not in use to protect the lead from breaking, it has a smooth lemony yellow seal top which has not been carved so could be personalised if desired.

It would make a most wonderful gift for the budding writer or avid journalling fan.
