A unique antique Victorian era keeper knot ring.

The face is made up from a scrolling knot with beading and this leads to the double / split style band.

The ring is marked to the inner band 9 375 and is a rich old Rose gold.

There are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.

One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.

The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.

Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some surface wear and surface scratches commensurate with age, some dents to the outer beading, one bead with a manufacture hole to the reverse (inner band)
