This antique Victorian mourning ring is exceptionally beautiful and perfect to add to your mourning jewellery collection.

It is very well crafted, made from 9ct yellow gold with brown plaited hair running through the centre of the band, revealed in cut out sections with delicately engraved designs.

The face of the ring is finished in a rich inky black enamel and set with tiny seed pearls in an almost buckle design.

Black enamel in mourning jewellery was said to represent death and seed pearls or pearls were said to represent tears.

The buckle motif symbolised amongst other things holding someone near.

This is a very sentimental and beautifully designed mourning piece.
