A gorgeous antique sterling silver albertina or watch chain.
It has a pretty rope twist chain with 3 large silver beads, one hexagonal and two decorated with engraved ivy leaves.
Ivy was a nice symbol in Victorian jewellery and amongst other things it symbolised forever, 'evergreen' and undying.
The albertina has an attractive twist design t bar to the bottom and a dog clip at the top.
A very pretty watch chain, no marks, tests as silver, late Victorian, aesthetic era.
Shown in the picture attached to a pocket watch for reference, does not come with a pocket watch.
Total weight 8.74 grams.
Approx measurements:
T bar - 1¾" height and 1.25" width
Chain - 6.5" total length
Condition:
Good used condition overall with some light surface wear and aged patina.
