A beautiful antique, Victorian era magnifying glass.

This fine piece is made from sterling silver with decorative ferrules, engraved and embossed with leaf and Berry designs.

The handle is made from the antler of the roe deer, indigenous to the UK and found in abundance throughout the English countryside.

Unusually this magnifying glass has the original antique glass lense, very heavy and highly magnified with a slight convex shape.

It is fully hallmarked to the ferrules and also bears a Victorian diamond registration mark.

Hallmarked for sterling silver, Sheffield 1885, maker John Batt.

Condition:
Very Good used condition overall with some age commensurate wear and surface marks.

Approx measurements:
4.25" lense width
10" total length
