A large sized oval locket with a beautiful engraving of a Swallow in flight with bamboo and grasslands in the aesthetic manner.
The locket has a smooth reverse and a beaded outer edge.
It has a large integral bale, perfect for adding to a long antique chain or a book chain style necklace.
The Swallow featured heavily in Victorian jewellery, including aesthetic, not only for beauty but for symbology too, often represent safe return.
It is Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, Victorian era C1880s, it is very heavy for a locket and exceptionally well made.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, light surface wear.
