A rare and interesting novelty Victorian gold pendant.

It is carefully and well designed as a little railway lantern in 9ct yellow gold with old rosey tones.

The lantern has super realistic features that it looks as though it really opens up but it doesn't.

The pendant is engraved to the side EW in fancy script and 1887, the front lantern door is foliate engraved and it has a 9ct gold jump ring to the top ready for hanging from your favourite antique chain or Albert.

It is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham assay office, 1880.

The base is set with a very dark red Carnelian seal matrix but this is slightly depressed and doesn't sit flush.

A great novelty piece.

Fair used condition overall, some small dings and surface wear commensurate with age, Carnelian base slightly depressed, small nick to the gold 'latch'
