This antique, Victorian era Aesthetic silver locket is just beautiful!

This is an unusual example with a very pretty and detailed design, on one side it has an engraved image of a Kingfisher bird and a dragonfly by the water with applied 9kt gold.

The reverse has a similarly detailed design engraved in silver with a swallow in flight and bamboo.

The Victorians always had a knack for including little hidden messages and sentiment in jewellery, Swallows represent safe travel and safe return, Dragonflies have been known to represent multiple things over time, reflection, maturity and transformation among a few, Kingfishers have represented peace, love and being prosperous.

The locket has a chunky integral silver bale and is ready to be hung from your favourite silver chain or necklace, looks great with an antique silver book chain necklace, shown in the photos with a Victorian silver book chain for reference, it does not come with the chain but it is available to purchase separately in the shop.
