An exemplary Victorian blue enamel and split pearl pendant.
There is so much detailing on this beautiful pendant and it has such a wonderfully unique shape and design.
There is a slim rectangular panel to the centre set with a row of creamy split pearls, the border of the pendant is a zig zag shape, each triangular section housing a small leaf, further set with pearls.
Intercepting these triangular sections there is a tulip like flower extending out to the side and set with pearls.
The edges of the borders are decorated in a rich cobalt blue enamel and the gold has rich bloomed tones.
The flowers are joined to the pendant with gold rods on the reverse.
The pearls are lustrous and creamy and the pendant has a large integrated gold bale.
It is unmarked, tests as 9ct gold, Victorian era c1880s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some patina and light surface wear, possible old repair to one of tte gold rods on the reverse though this may just be old solder as it is very strong, missing one tiny pearl, near one of the flowers.
Approx measurements:
2" length with bale
1.20" width
Weight approx 8.94 grams.
