A beautiful antique late Victorian mourning ring.

This ring has everything going for it and there is so much Victorian symbolism found in this one ring.

It has a rich warm 15ct yellow gold band which is carved and engraved, there is a finely plaited band of brown hair running through the band.

To the front there is a geometric panel set with creamy seed pearl and a single diamond, the front is decorated in black enamel.

Symbolically black enamel represents death, seed pearls are said to represent tears, the ring has an inscription engraved on the inner band which reads: Mother, died Feb 21st 1895.

This beautiful piece is fully hallmarked with the ever sought after Chester assay mark, 15ct gold, 1894.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some miniscule dings near one of the hair panels, one corner with a tiny chip missing of black enamel, one seed pearl with nacre loss.
