An attractive antique, late Victorian era, solid sterling silver cigar case or cheroot holder case.
Smooth sterling silver with a flip top lid and a tapering body, it has short hallmarks within the inner lid and full hallmarks on the inner rim.
It has a large silver jump ring for attaching to an Albert chain, currently attached to an antique white metal curb chain with a replacement silver fastener, used as a necklace.
Fully hallmarked for Chester 1897,maker is Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Francis Hollings Shepherd.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use, some surface wear and a tiny ding.
Approx measurements:
2.5" in length,
2.75" circumference at the widest point
20" chain length
