A superbly chunky Victorian sterling silver cuff bangle.
This beauty is a super wide cuff bangle with a smooth polished reverse and a buckle style front.
The front is engraved with scrolling flora.
It closes with a push catch slot type fastener.
This is a real statement piece and will not go unnoticed when worn.
The buckle was widely adopted by the Victorians for use in jewellery amongst other things it popularly symbolised holding a loved one close, locking in their love.
It is an oval shaped bangle.
It is unmarked, tests as sterling silver, Victorian era, c1890s.
Very good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, a couple of miniscule dings to the reverse, the catch can be a little struggle to get in but once clipped it is very strong and secure.
