A superbly chunky Victorian sterling silver cuff bangle.
This beauty is a super wide cuff bangle with a smooth polished reverse and a buckle style front.
The front is engraved with scrolling flora.
It closes with a push catch slot type fastener.
This is a real statement piece and will not go unnoticed when worn.
The buckle was widely adopted by the Victorians for use in jewellery amongst other things it popularly symbolised holding a loved one close, locking in their love.
It is an oval shaped bangle.
It is unmarked, tests as sterling silver, Victorian era, c1890s.
Condition:
Very good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, a couple of miniscule dings to the reverse, the catch can be a little struggle to get in but once clipped it is very strong and secure.
