A beautiful antique Victorian sterling silver locket pendant.
It is engraved all over with ivy leaves on the reverse, a heavily symbolic image in Victorian jewellery, amongst other things symbolising everlasting love or memory, the evergreen.
The front is engraved with an attractive floral spray.
It has a large, decorative integral bale and is an with a square scalloped edge.
It has no glazed covers and is fully hallmarked to the reverse with a lion passant stamp to the bale.
This is a gorgeous Victorian locket of a good size, perfect for adding to your favourite long chain or necklace.
The hallmark date letter is fairly worn but is 1894, Birmingham assay office, sterling silver.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, surface wear and minor scratches to the reverse, some scratches and soft solder to the inside.
Approx measurements:
1.29" width
2.15" height including the bale.
